It's Americans with Disabilities Act Awareness Day. On July 26 each year, we celebrate this important civil rights law that works to ensure all people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
Providing digital access to government information and services is a huge step forward in providing equal access, but there are some challenges that can come with that as well. We're all learning every day new ways to create a more accessible digital experience.
I wanted to share a few helpful resources:
If you're attending the National Association for Government Web Professionals (NAGW) conference in Little Rock this year, I hope you'll stop by my session (or come say hello!). I'll be presenting on my own experience creating a digital accessibility strategy in my previous role at Manatee County Government.
What other resources or best practices do you find helpful in tackling ADA compliance and digital accessibility?
